a.    What is bird flu? When was it first detected among humans?
Ans- Bird flu is the commonly used term for avian influenza which is a viral infection transmitted from bird to bird. in the late 90s, it was first detected among humans.
b.    Who are most prone to get bird flu virus, according to the doctor?
Ans- People like butchers and poultry farm workers who have had exceptionally close contact with the infected poultry.
c.    Mention any two possible ways humans can get infected by the avian influenza?
Ans- plucking infected birds and swimming or bathing in water contaminated with the droppings of infected birds
d.    What are some of the indications that one is infected with the bird flu?
Ans- Fever, cough, sore throat and muscle aches are the major symptoms yet sometimes there could be diarrhoea, eye infections and even serious respiratory diseases.
e.    Which of the precautions, as mentioned by the doctor, do you usually adopt? Why?
Ans – I wash hands thoroughly and frequently for 15-20 seconds with soap and water. This helps me avoid H5N1.

Nepal has had a turbulent political history. In 2007 B.S. Rana Regime was abolished from the country. Political parties were banned in 2017 BS.  National Referendum was held to choose Panchyat System or Multiparty Democratic System. Democratic constitution was promulgated by the king in 2046 BS. In 2051, midterm election was held. Different members of Royal family were killed in 2059 BS.  In 2063BS, comprehensive peace agreement between seven political parties and CPN (Maoist) was made. The First CA election was held 2064 BS.  In 2070 BS, the Second CA election was held.
