The Usefulness of Social Media for Study

Question No. 8

The Editor,

The Kathmandu Post,

Kathmandu, Nepal

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to highlight the poor condition of roads in our locality. The streets are full of potholes and uneven surfaces. They make travel difficult and dangerous. During the rainy season, the potholes fill with water, and turn the roads slippery and unsafe for pedestrians and drivers alike. People are at constant risk of accidents, especially children and elderly residents.

Additionally, the poor road conditions lead to traffic congestion. Vehicles often slow down or swerve to avoid damaged areas, creating long jams and frustrating delays. This affects everyone, including commuters, students, and emergency vehicles.

To improve the situation, I suggest regular maintenance of the roads, especially before the monsoon season. Immediate repair of existing potholes and cracks can reduce the risk of accidents. Secondly, installing proper drainage along the roads can prevent waterlogging, keeping the streets safe and traffic smooth.

I hope the concerned authorities take immediate action.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely,
Saroj Pariyar
